Independence hurdler Ben Kin Ho Tsang is the Bay Area News Group’s boys high school athlete of the week for May 16-22 after he received 4,893 votes (35.68%) by the 5 p.m. deadline Wednesday.
California baseball player Raoul Fabian (4,145 votes/30.23%) placed second and Harker track and field standout Andrew Fu (3,204 votes/23.37%) was third.

Tsang captured gold medals in both the 110 high hurdles and 300 hurdles at the Central Coast Section track and field finals at Gilroy High on Saturday.
He ran the 110 high hurdles in 14.17 and the 300 hurdles in 37.32.
