Moreau Catholic basketball standout Trey Knight is the Bay Area News Group’s high school boys athlete of the week for Jan. 17-23 after he received 13,217 votes (39.08%) by the 5 p.m. deadline Wednesday.
James Logan soccer player Angel Vasquez had 12,286 votes (36.33%) to finish second, with Dougherty Valley basketball player Connor Sevilla (13.63%) placing third.

Knight, a senior, averaged 13 points, eight assists and 4.3 steals in three victories during the week as Moreau ran its record to 14-4 overall and 6-0 in the Mission Valley Athletic League.
In a win over Vanden at De La Salle’s MLK Classic, Knight had 17 points, six assists and four steals. In a rout of Kennedy-Fremont, he had nine points, eight assists and four steals. He also had 13 points, 10 assists and five steals in a victory over American.
