Serra running back Petelo Gi is the Bay Area News Group’s boys high school athlete of the week for Dec. 6-12 after receiving 46.16% of the vote by the deadline at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Wilcox running back Luther K. Glenn (23.77%) was second and Sacred Heart Cathedral football standout Ray-John Spears (20.91%) took third.

Facing the No. 1 team in the country for the CIF Open Division state championship in Mission Viejo, Gi, a senior, carried 25 times for 116 yards and also caught five passes for 15 yards.
