Sacred Heart Cathedral baseball player Lucas Kelly is the Bay Area News Group’s boys high school athlete of the week for March 7-13 after receiving 7,969 votes (50.47%) at the 5 p.m. deadline Wednesday.
Capuchino baseball player Ryan Lordier finished second and Homestead baseball player Joshua Cantwell-Nahrung took third.

In victories over Sacred Heart Prep, El Camino and Burlingame, Kelly had six hits in 11 at-bats, scored six runs and drove in five runs. He had two doubles, a triple and a home run among his hits. Kelly is batting .542 and has a .607 on-base percentage. Sacred Heart Cathedral began this week 6-0-1.
