Willow Glen water polo player Luke Llabres is the Bay Area News Group’s boys high school athlete of the week for Aug. 29-Sept. 3 after he received 8,645 votes (51.74%) by the 5 p.m. deadline Wednesday.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent football player Josiah Jones finished second and Miramonte football player Luke Duncan placed third.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Llabres scored 11 goals and assisted on two others in a 17-5 victory over Lynbrook. The previous week, he had seven goals and two assists in a 15-6 win over Atascadero.

Willow Glen began this week 3-2 on the season.
