San Ramon Valley basketball player Sofia Bowes is the Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week of Dec. 5-10 after she received 12,636 votes (41.58%) by the 5 p.m. deadline on Wednesday.
Monte Vista soccer player Rylan Park grabbed 7,334 votes (24.14%) to finish second.
Carondelet basketball player Keisha Vitalicio finished third.
Bowes, a San Ramon Valley junior, had 18 points, six assists and eight rebounds in a 64-50 win over No. 4 Pinewood. Bowes helped the Wolves get off to a 4-1 record, which includes wins over St. Ignatius and San Marin.
