Los Gatos water polo player Lily van Putten is the Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week of Nov. 1-5 after she received 16,918 votes (40.10%) by the 5 p.m. deadline on Wednesday
St. Patrick-St. Vincent tennis player Vy Le grabbed 15,123 votes (35.85%) to finish second.
Alameda water polo player Kala Lau-Siem finished third.
Van Putten has been a points machine for Los Gatos all season, scoring 69 goals and dishing out 35 assists this season. In Saturday’s CIF regional championship against Menlo School, Van Putten had four goals, five ejections draw, and five steals.
