We all have a favorite brewery taphouse where we can hang out for the day, enjoy a plethora of stouts, IPAs and hazies on tap and also grab a bite, whether in-house or at the food truck parked at the curb.
The big question: Which is the best, and why? Last month, we asked readers to nominate their favorite Bay Area brewery taphouses. And we received votes for spots from Morgan Hill to Martinez; and San Jose to San Francisco.
Your reasons were as varied as the locales. For some, it was the breadth and scope of beers on tap; for others, it was the dog- or kid-friendliness of the taproom, or that they serve great food, and allow you to BYOF. Trivia nights and free games were also in the mix.
Here are your nominees:
- Gordon Biersch Brewing Company, San Jose
- Floodcraft Brewing Co., San Jose
- Fieldwork Brewing Company, San Ramon and other locations
- Freewheel Brewing Company, Redwood City
- Cellarmaker Brewing Company, San Francisco
- INC 82 Brewing, Dublin
- Hapa’s Brewing Company, San Jose
- Shadow Puppet Brewing Company, Livermore
- East Brothers Beer Company, Richmond
- Mike Hess Brewing, Walnut Creek
- Calicraft Brewing Company, Walnut Creek
- Kelly Brewing Company, Morgan Hill
- Epidemic Ales, Concord
- Anchor Public Taps, San Francisco
- Del Cielo Brewing Co., Martinez
- Santa Clara Valley Brewing, San Jose
