OAKLAND — A 35-year-old man was killed and another man wounded in separate shootings Friday night in East Oakland neighborhoods, authorities said.

The name of the man killed has not yet been released. Police said he was an Oakland resident.

Officers responding to ShotSpotter alerts about  8:30 p.m. Friday in the area near 89th Avenue and International Boulevard found the man shot inside a vehicle parked in the 1400 block of 89th Avenue. Despite first responders’ efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Other officers arrived and found additional evidence of a shooting, including multiple casings on the ground. Officers worked to control traffic by blocking off 89th Avenue between International Boulevard and Holly Street and westbound International traffic at 90th Avenue.

No motive has been determined yet for the shooting and no arrests have been made.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money in the homicide. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3821 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.

About 9:40 p.m., police responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity near 72nd Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard. No victim was found but officers did locate at least one rifle casing near 72nd Avenue and Lacey Street.

Moments later, officers learned a 40-year-old Oakland man had been shot at that site and had managed to get his own transportation to an area hospital. He was  in stable condition.

Police have not yet confirmed a motive for the shooting and have not made any arrests.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.  Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
