Metallica is going acoustic for a cause.
No, they haven’t brought back the Bridge School Benefit concerts.
But this might remind fans of those fabled gatherings at Shoreline Amphitheatre, where Metallica went acoustic a few times.
This time around, Metallica is supporting its own All Within My Hands, the recently formed “non-profit foundation focused on creating sustainable communities by tackling the issues of hunger and workforce education and encouraging volunteerism,” according to a news release.
The band’s acoustic All Within My Hands Foundation Helping Hands Concert and Auction is held Nov. 3 at the Masonic in San Francisco. Cage the Elephant will also perform an acoustic set at the show. Fans will also be able “to bid on one of a kind auction items” at the event.
Tickets go sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 21, www.ticketmaster.com.
Established in 2017, All Within My Hands donated over “$750,000 to local food banks around the world — a practice the band and AWMH have continued on the North American WorldWired Tour, donating $10,000 to local food banks in every city and meeting dedicated people who focus their daily lives on helping others,” according to a news release.
