A pair of former Oakland police chiefs and an Oakland councilman are calling for removal of the department’s federal monitor.

Councilman Noel Gallo, and former chiefs Howard Jordan and Anne Kirkpatrick have new information of Oakland Police Federal Monitor Robert Warshaw; they also will provide an update on the lawsuit by Kirkpatrick against the city of Oakland.

Jordan was named interim chief in October 2011 and was made permanent in February 2012. He retired in May 2013 for medical reasons.

Kirkpatrick, the first female Oakland police chief, was sworn in Feb. 27, 2017. She was fired Feb. 20 by the Oakland Police Commission and Mayor Libby Schaaf.
