STANFORD – Cal’s Reece Whitley won the Men’s 200 Meter Breaststroke with a time of 2:09.69. Whitley edged Stanford’s Daniel Roy who finished second with a time of 2:10.01 on the second day of the 2019 Phillips 66 National Championships at the Stanford Avery Aquatic Center.
Other winners included Asia Seidt, who won the Women’s 200 Meter Backstroke with a time of 2:08.90; Elijah Winnington, who was victorious in the Men’s 200 Meter Freestyle by hitting a time of 1:46.19; and Allison Schmitt, who won the Women’s 200 Meter Freestyle at 1:56.97. Meanwhile, Madisyn Cox took the top time for the Women’s 200 Meter Breaststroke with a mark of 2:23.84 and Austin Katz turned in a time of 1:55.72 to win the Men’s 200 Meter Backstroke.
The contests will continue through Aug. 4 with events such as the 400 meter freestyle and 200 individual medley.
