The 49ers are done talking to the media. Now is their time to focus in on Sunday’s Super Bowl against the Chiefs.

In the team’s last meeting with reporters, Jimmy Garoppolo told our Cam Inman that the 49ers had a “hell of a day” at practice, which would be encouraging aside from the fact that seemingly every time a player or coach raves about practice, they go out and lose the next game.

It appears that running back Tevin Coleman should be ready to play on Sunday after suffering a shoulder injury in the NFC Championship Game, though Raheem Mostert has taken over as the lead back for the 49ers. Our Julia Prodis Sulek profiled Mostert Thursday morning, speaking with his wife and others close to Mostert about his journey from a difficult upbringing to the top of the sporting world.

Inman and fellow reporter Kerry Crowley remarked on photographer Jose Fajardo being hit by a football thrown by Sunday’s halftime performer, Jennifer Lopez. Jose walked away uninjured, and he even got the shot. He’s a true professional.

As for the stories on Jimmy Garoppolo’s clutch-time prowess and defensive line coach Kris Kocurek’s path to managing the NFL’s best pass rushers, those stories (and more) will post tomorrow once our team finishes writing and editing them.

For now, though, you can check out all our coverage on the 49ers section of MercuryNews.com, and don’t forget to go to our 49ers Facebook page for Friday’s Super Bowl preview on Facebook Live, where you can ask questions in the comments. That will begin at noon on Friday.
