Garth Brooks showed up at the BottleRock Napa Valley festival on Saturday (25).
Unfortunately, the country music superstar didn’t take the stage to join headliner Neil Young in a jammed-out version of “Like a Hurricane” or, even better, sit in with Cypress Hill on “Insane in the Brain.”
No, the record-setting country artist was there to support his wife and fellow country great, Trisha Yearwood, who was appearing on the Williams Sonoma Stage during Day Two of the festival.
Brooks watched his wife participate in a cooking demonstration on this culinary stage, which was emceed, in high style, all weekend by Liam Mayclem, aka the “Foodie Chap” from KCBS Radio.
But there was another record-setter in attendance as well — Jerry Rice, the former 49ers and Raiders great who joined Yearwood onstage.
Brooks never took the stage, allowing the spotlight to remain on Yearwood. But he was seen backstage not long after the demonstration ended, as the couple quickly boarded a fancy black SUV to leave the festival.
Brooks came and went, without most attendees probably even realizing he was there.
Other notable happenings from the festival included Neil Young having the plug pulled on his set as he went past curfew and “Iron Chef” Masaharu Morimoto setting a new Guinness Book of World Record.
