A celebration of both the region’s diversity and its agricultural past, the fair runs four days from August 1-4 in San Jose, California. The county fair features carnival rides, farm exhibits, puppet, bird and magic shows and concerts followed by nightly fireworks.

Admission is $5 for children ages 5-12 and seniors ages 65-plus; $10 for adults; and free for veterans and active-duty military (with ID) and for kids under 5. Online package deals available. 344 Tully Road, San Jose. Parking is $10 or find public transit options on the website, www.thefair.org.
