About 250 people attended a rally held Sunday afternoon in front of the Danville Library. The event was held by the group Wake Up Danville in support of Black Lives Matter. Organizers set up stations for people to make posters, sign-ups for supporting groups assisting people affected by racial injustices and provided snacks and water. Speakers from the community included students from San Ramon Valley High School and the President of the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce Zae Perrin who spoke about his own experiences dealing with racism. Event co-organizer Alexandra Aqua then spoke about her own experiences growing up in Danville and asked people to help make the change needed to stop racial discrimination in their community.
