When it’s newsworthy that a 55-year-old man is posing nude, we usually know who’s to blame.
Sure enough, it’s time once again for ESPN to show us more than we ever expected — or wanted — to see of some of our favorite athletes and former athletes.
Jerry Rice, arguably the greatest football player ever, is the centerfold, err centerpiece to this year’s edition of ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue, for our purposes. The former 49ers and Raiders Hall of Famer will be on full display on June 25, four days before the magazine is released for sale.
The 55-year-old Rice is still in great shape and thus should fit right in with many of the other well-toned athletes portrayed in ESPN’s 10th anniversary issue.
(This also reminds us we’re now one year removed from seeing Sharks stars Joe Thornton and Brent Burns facing off while nude. )
Among the others who will be naked but strategically covered up will be New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley, soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns and 63-year-old golfer Greg Norman.
The full list includes Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel, Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, women’s basketball players Sue Bird, Megan Rapinoe and Breanna Stewart, Olympic sprinter Tori Bowie, WWE wrestler Charlotte Flair, Rik Flair’s daughter, pro softball player Lauren Chamberlain, Olympic cross-country skier Jessie Diggins, women’s soccer player Crystal Dunn and Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon.
