Wow, just wow. We started this bracket-style showdown between Bay Area fried-chicken sandwich spots, because we figured everyone eats chicken and would want to weigh in on a heated debate among foodies: Who makes the tastiest, crunchiest, most delicious fried chicken sammie in the Bay Area?

And here we are, readers. Hundreds of votes later, you helped whittle down the tournament from 16 restaurants to the Amazing Eight and Fowl Four. And now we are down to the top two restaurants: Pinky & Red’s in Berkeley and Starbird in Sunnyvale, San Jose and Foster City.

Over the weekend, Pinky & Red’s just barely beat out San Jose’s Paper Plane with 54 percent of the votes, while Starbird went beak to beak against The Bird in Berkeley and San Francisco, winning by a whopping 80 percent.

So who will reign supreme? Pinky & Red’s or Starbird? Cast your votes now. Weigh in on the brackets below using Firefox or Safari as your browser and be sure to click the “done” button when you’re finished to submit your votes. Voting is open from now until noon on Thursday, Feb. 21. We’ll unveil the winner on Friday Feb. 22.
