Lake Tahoe bustles during the summer months with lakeside concerts, Fourth of July weekend fireworks and special events. Here’s just a sampling of festivals, from beer and wine walks to a yoga-centric celebration and a sky race.
Valhalla Renaissance Faire: Join the fun June 2-3 and June 9-10 at the Camp Richardson Historic Resort and Marina for two weekends of renaissance fun, including archery, javelin throws, magicians and more. Details: Admission $8-$16; www.valhallafaire.com/
Tahoe Brewfest: Enjoy a day in the sun with beer lovers from around the world June 2 at Heavenly’s Cal Lodge — includes craft brew tastings, live music and food. Details: $35-$50 admission; tahoebrewfest.com
Truckee Brewfest: The 13th annual outdoor beer festival on June 9 includes more than 40 breweries, plus brats, barbecue, music and a silent auction. Tickets are $35-$40, ages 21 and up only. Details: truckeeoptimist.com
Summer Mountain Festival: Produced by Alpenglow Sports, North Lake Tahoe’s nine day celebration of human-powered sports — hiking, yoga, stand-up paddleboarding, rock climbing and more — will be June 16-24. Runners will want to check out the Broken Arrow Sky Race, an epic mountain trail race, including a 52K, a 26K,10K and a “Vertical K.” The two day event is being held June 15-17. Valhalla Art, Music & Theatre Festival: Enjoy a celebration of music, theatre and visual arts at Valhalla’s Boathouse Theater. Tahoe City Wine Walk: The Tahoe City Food & Wine Classic provides some of the best views of Lake Tahoe. This June 16 outdoor event will focus on fine wine and gourmet food from top restaurants and catering companies in North Lake Tahoe.
