This year’s 2019 Oscars red carpet fashion offenders included beloved stars, who looked like they were trying something new, fun or daring — but for various reasons, their looks just didn’t come off.

That was especially true for the night’s pink ladies — female stars who went with the trend of donning big, puffy pink, red or fuchsia-colored gowns. Some women carried it off, and you can check out their successes here.

But others didn’t. Sigh. We’re looking at you Linda Cardellini and Sarah Paulson. Nice try.

Then there was Jennifer Lopez. It always comes down to Jennifer Lopez, doesn’t it? She offered up one of her usual attention-grabbing red carpet moments in a Tom Ford mirror-tile dress that looked stunning. But it also looked painful, as if J. Lo was encased in broken glass.

Check out the showstopping — for all the wrong reasons — looks above. Then take a gander at the best looks of the night here, from Lady Gaga’s old Hollywood glamour to a sartorial border-crushing take on a tuxedo.
