The warm, SoCal sun. The cool, ocean breeze. And the most luxurious resorts in the state.
As part of its global best hotel rankings, U.S. News & World Report has released its list of the best hotels in California. And Orange County and San Diego dominate the top 10, which includes four Beverly Hills properties and two North County San Diego resorts. Among them: Rancho Santa Fe’s Valencia Resort & Spa, which took the No. 1 spot.
How luxurious are these? The Beverly Hills Waldorf Astoria offers caviar facials. For real.
Northern California wasn’t completely left out. The luxurious five-star Bardessono Hotel in Yountville came in eighth. And the full list of 15 hotels includes Napa Valley’s Auberge du Soleil (No. 11), Calistoga Ranch (No. 12) and the Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe (No. 14).
Travel & Leisure agrees: Its 2018 list of the top California resorts included Bardessono Hotel, Calistoga Ranch and Auberge du Soleil, as well.
U.S. News & World Report’s rankings are based on an analysis of industry awards, hotel star ratings and user ratings.
