The well-traveled experts at Remote Lands, a travel designer specializing in Asia adventures, have made their selections for the coming year’s hottest, up-and-coming destinations on the continent. The annual list features spots that are trending for a variety of reasons, from new direct flights and unique cultural experiences to the debut of new luxury resorts.

Others on the list, such as Uzbekistan, which Conde Nast Traveler touted as a hot destination for 2019, aren’t as unknown. Same goes for Singapore, which made Kayak’s list of top 10 stopover cities following its “Crazy Rich Asians” spotlight.
