Fifty new American citizens from 30 countries took the Oath of Allegiance during a special naturalization ceremony on the flight deck of the USS Hornet Museum. Friday’s ceremony was held by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) San Francisco Field Office.
Alameda Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft gave a speech congratulating the new citizens, and USCIS San Francisco Field Office Section Chief Joe Hamilton and USS Hornet Museum Executive Director Mark Epperson offered welcoming remarks.
After the colors were posted by the Coast Guard color guard, USCIS San Francisco Field Office Director Richard Valeika led the Oath of Allegiance for the new American citizens.
