The Saratoga Area Senior Coordinating Council is hosting a virtual edition of its annual Lunch with the Mayor on Sept. 9.

Parcel tax oversight
The Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District is seeking applicants to serve on its Parcel Tax Oversight Committee.
Voters recently approved Measure A, an extension of the district’s $49-per-parcel tax. The district’s independent citizens’ oversight committee annually reviews its compliance with the terms of Measure A. The committee includes parents, guardians and community members.
Applications are available at www.lgsuhsd.org, at the superintendent’s office at 17421 Farley Road West, Los Gatos or via email to jmarashian@lgsuhsd.org. All applications are due by noon on Sept. 23.
COVID-19 testing
Santa Clara County is providing appointment-based COVID-19 testing on a consistently scheduled, rotating basis in August and September.
“If we want more people to be tested, providing locally available and convenient sites is essential,” said County Supervisor Joe Simitian, who represents District 5 and serves as the Chair of County’s Health and Hospital Committee.
Test sites in District 5 cities include the Saratoga Friendship Hall, 19841 Prospect Road, on Aug. 27 and Sept. 24, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tests are free, and no health insurance or doctor’s note is required.
Appointments are required and will be open for scheduling three days before the testing date. Once all appointments are filled, the location will no longer appear for scheduling on the website.
