OAKLAND — Police arrested a man on Saturday night after he allegedly crashed his car into a television news van.
Oakland police tweeted at 10:06 p.m. that a silver BMW crashed into a news van at 14th and Jefferson Streets downtown. The suspect ran from the scene on foot but was taken into custody just a block away.
The driver of the news van was taken to a local hospital, but his condition was not known. The van was being used by a crew from television station KPIX.
Police gave no further details on the incident.
