What’s an oddsmaker to do with no sports going on due to the coronavirus pandemic?
Well, at least one betting site, BetOnline.ag, is now taking wagers regarding what will happen in the pop music world and other areas of entertainment.
Notably, they are taking bets on whether Taylor Swift will postpone or cancel her upcoming tour.
And the odds overwhelming favor that Switt’s Lover tour won’t go on as originally planned.
The sportsbook lists an “implied probability” of 97.56 percent that the tour will be postponed. Those betting that it won’t be postponed are in for a heavy payout, at 10-1 odds.
And the odds are nearly as overwhelmingly one-sided when it comes to the tour being flat-out canceled.
Other entertainment related bets include:
“Ozark” — Who will be the first character to die? (You stand to make a mint if you truly believe it will be Marty Byrde, the character played by Jason Bateman.) Plus many other bets.
“Survivor” — Who will win season 40? (Anybody picking incredible longshot Sandra Diaz-Twine?)
And our favorite:
When will KFC restaurants reopen in the U.K.? (Give the Brits their four-piece chicken combos!)
Great news. @istillbelieve, starring @CW_Riverdale's @kj_apa as @jeremycamp, comes to "on demand" March 27. Recommended viewing, while sheltering at place. But, first, read my preview piece. https://t.co/tHgsgSw04E
