Even during a global pandemic, art never dies.
Neighbors living near Campbell’s Jack Fischer Park have been gifted with an exhibition of world-famous art pieces — in one art lover’s front lawn.
Johnny DePalma, a local children’s book author, has created a pop-up art gallery, “The Emergency Art Museum,” displaying replicas of 57 world-famous art pieces — from Bansky’s “Balloon Girl” and Andy Warhol’s “Campbell’s Soup Can” to a giant version of Jeff Koons’ “Balloon Dogs.” The museum is free of charge to visitors.
DePalma says he created the pop-up gallery as a response to the lack of art resources available to children who are distance learning during the stay-at-home order in the Bay Area.
