No. 7 Bellarmine 7, No. 3 Valley Christian 4

Bellarmine kept its chances of winning the West Catholic Athletic League regular-season title alive Tuesday with a 7-4 victory at home in San Jose over Valley Christian.

The outcome eliminated Valley Christian from the race with one game to go.

St. Francis (11-2 in the league) will clinch the title if it wins at home in Mountain View on Thursday against Archbishop Mitty.

If St. Francis loses, Bellarmine (10-2-1) will capture the title with a win on the road Friday at Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Tuesday, the Bells scored three runs in the third inning and four in the fourth to break open the game. Chase Knight went 2 for 3 with two doubles and knocked in three runs and Matt DiCicco and Thomas Trombatore each had two RBIs to lead the Bells.

Bellarmine extended its winning streak to six games and is 19-5-1 overall.

Jacob Hudson went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs for Valley (20-5-1, 9-3-1).

No. 2 St. Francis 5, St. Ignatius 3

Both teams scored two runs in the first inning, and the scoreboard didn’t change until St. Francis added three runs in the top of the seventh. The Lancers held on to beat St. Igantius, an outcome that kept them atop the WCAL standings.

Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo commit Wyatt King had a three-run double, Tyson Smith had two hits and Elias Duncan scored two runs for the Lancers.

St. Francis is 22-4, 11-2. St. Ignatius dropped to 10-13, 3-10.

No. 6 Clayton Valley 10, Miramonte 5

Jordan Bolden hit his first home run of the season – a two-run shot – in Clayton Valley’s road Diablo Athletic League Foothill Division win over Miramonte.

Along with Bolden, Arkansas-bound Ryder Helfrick and Anthony Pisciotto each had two RBIs. Pisciotto also struck out four for the Ugly Eagles, who won their seventh straight game and are 17-4, 7-2.

Miramonte dropped to 10-11, 1-8.

No. 8 Archbishop Mitty 11, Archbishop Riordan 4

Mitty scored five runs in the home half of the first inning and never trailed in its WCAL victory over Archbishop Riordan.

Matteo Blandino had a bases-clearing double, David Estrada had a two-hit, two-RBI game and five Mitty pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts.

Mitty (17-7, 6-7) will play Woodcreek-Roseville in the Boras Classic Northern California championship game today at St. Mary’s-Stockton. The game was postponed because of rain three weeks ago.

Riordan fell to 11-15, 1-12.

No. 12 Sacred Heart Cathedral 12, Serra 3

Aidan Shea and Jeffrey Osorio-Agard each homered as Sacred Heart Cathedral beat Serra on the road in WCAL play.

Lucas Kelly had a four-hit game, Matt Logberg went 3 for 4 and Nick Katz pitched a complete game, allowing three runs. SHC improved to 15-9-1, 7-6.

Kai Laxa and Tyler Peruzzaro each knocked in a run for Serra, which fell to 13-12, 4-9.

No. 13 Liberty 7, Heritage 0

Liberty beat host Heritage to claim its first Bay Valley Athletic League regular-season title since 2014.

Cole Ehrhorn threw a two-hitter and struck out six, Julian Rhodes had two RBIs and Nick Goff went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.

Liberty is 18-5, 9-0. Heritage slipped to 15-8, 6-3.

Softball

No. 1 Granada 8, Amador Valley 2

Delaney Aumua hit two home runs, bringing her total to nine on the season, in Granada’s road win in East Bay Athletic League play against Amador Valley.

Sierra Black pitched seven innings and struck out six and Mariah Ayala knocked in two runs for the Matadors.

Granada improved to 22-3, 12-0. Amador Valley fell to 9-11, 4-8.

No. 4 Livermore 12, Dublin 0

Taylor Rodriguez allowed four hits and struck out 16 and Jae Cosgriff went 4 for 5 with a home run and four RBIs to help Livermore beat Dublin on the road in EBAL action.

Livermore is 19-3-1, 11-1. Dublin fell to 7-16, 2-10.

No. 6 Benicia 6, No. 17 Clayton Valley 3

Braxton Brown pitched a three-hitter, struck out 11 and knocked in a run in Benicia’s 6-3 DAL Foothill Division road win over Clayton Valley.

Hailey Weddington had a two-run single and Ava Rojas and Lorenzza Marcacci each knocked in a run for Benicia, which improved to 15-5, 8-1.

Clayton Valley slipped to 15-4, 8-2.

No. 18 Willow Glen 17, Evergreen Valley 3 (5 innings)

Willow Glen won its 16th straight game with a 17-3 rout of visiting Evergreen Valley in Blossom Valley Athletic League Santa Teresa Division play.

The Rams had 12 players drive in at least one run. Willow Glen (22-2, 11-0) is one win from clinching winning a league crown.

Evergreen Valley fell to 5-12, 5-6.
