The Lamorinda Arts Council presents an Art Embraces Words Halloween Costume Event on Oct. 29, from 2 – 3:30 pm at the Lafayette Library, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette. Our program is held in the Arts & Science Room where emerging writers read from their work surrounded by artwork from local artists. In this way art literally “embraces” the spoken word.

While costumes are optional for our October 29, 2022 event, we invite you to appear as your favorite Literary or Artistic character. Prizes will be awarded by Jill Gelster and Kim Bonney of Orinda Starlight Village Players. Listen to readings of work by David Flower, Jo Mele, Camille Minichino and Brian Shea. View some spooky artwork by Jennifer Granat, Lamorinda Arts Alliance newsletter Editor, who will speak about her creative process.  Local artist Ruth Stanton is showing her 42″ x 34″ acrylic painting, “Trick or Treat?” Reception on the vine covered patio outside the Arts & Science Room immdiately follows.
