Defensive tackle D.J. Jones proposed to his girlfriend, Kayla Fannin, on the field of Levi’s Stadium about two hours before kickoff against the Cleveland Browns.
Jones used the age-old diversionary tactic of pointing to something behind Fannin before getting down on a knee while her back was turned.

Charles Leno Jr. of the Chicago Bears was the most recent NFL player to propose on the field before Jones, dropping to one knee to ask girlfriend Jennifer Roth to marry him.
Before that, Seattle Seahawks cornerback DeShawn Shead made a post game proposal in 2014 after Seattle beat the Denver Broncos in overtime.
Greg Jones, a New York Giants player, proposed to his girlfriend in 2012 after the Giants defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl 46 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Following a Fiesta Bowl win over Oklahoma with the now-famous Statue of Liberty play run in 2007, Ian Johnson proposed during an interview with Fox Sports reporter Chris Meyers, who pre-empted the gesture with a spoiler: “I know you’re going to propose to your girlfriend, congratulations.”
