RUNNING BACKS

First team

Luther K. Glenn, Wilcox, 5-10, 180, senior

Ran for a CCS-best 2,366 yards while leading the Chargers to section and regional championships. In the Division 2-A state final, a 31-28 loss to Scripps Ranch-San Diego, he rushed for 148 yards and two TDs and also caught three passes for 61 yards and a TD. Finished the season with 3,098 all-purpose yards and scored 37 TDs.

Viliami Teu, St. Francis, 5-11, 195, senior

West Catholic Athletic League’s player of the year led the Lancers to a historic victory over De La Salle in September and an undefeated regular-season record. Ran for 185 yards and a TD in the victory over DLS and a school-record 344 yards and two TDs in 45 carries as St. Francis rolled past Serra to clinch the WCAL title. Finished with 2,211 yards in 270 attempts and scored 28 TDs, breaking the league’s rushing record along the way.

Second team

Rahsaan Woodland, Clayton Valley, 5-9, 185, senior

First-team all-East Bay Athletic League Mountain Division selection. Led the Ugly Eagles to the North Coast Section Division I final, rushing for 1,577 yards and 12 TDs in 252 carries. Ran for at least 100 yards in 11 of his team’s 13 games.

Za’Darion Nardi, San Ramon Valley, 6-0, 175, senior

Received first-team honors in the EBAL’s Mountain Division, finishing the season with 1,257 yards and 14 TDs in 191 attempts. Ran for 206 yards against Antioch, 264 against California and 162 against Monte Vista, all victories for the Wolves.
