Journey is ready for another journey.
The phenomenally successful Bay Area band — currently consisting of vocalist Arnel Pineda, guitarist Neal Schon, bassist Ross Valory, keyboardist Jonathan Cain and drummer Steve Smith — have announced plans for a massive North American tour with fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famers the Pretenders in 2020.
The trek includes three stops in Northern California — May 27 at Concord Pavilion, May 29 at Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland and May 30 at Shoreline Amphitheatre at Mountain View.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Nov. 8, www.livenation.com.
American Express cardholders get early access to tickets, with a presale running from 10 a.m. Nov. 4 through 10 p.m. Nov. 7. Other presales, including one for Citi cardholders, begins at 10 a.m. Nov. 5.
Fans can expect to hear Journey perform such favorites as “Lights,” “Faithfully,” “Any Way You Want It,” “Open Arms,” “Wheel In The Sky,” “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” and “Don’t Stop Believin’,” and the Pretenders play such offerings “I’ll Stand By You,” “Back On The Chain Gang,” “Brass In Pocket,” “Don’t Get Me Wrong,” “2000 Miles,” “My City Was Gone” “Middle of the Road,” according to a news release.
