OAKLAND — A coffee shop customer suffered some cuts and bruises while chasing three men suspected of stealing his laptop Friday and being dragged about 30 feet by a vehicle, police said.

He didn’t even get his laptop back for his trouble.

The three suspects got away and remain on the loose. They man they victimized was treated at the scene, police said.

It all went down around 2:40 p.m. at a Peet’s Coffee shop in the 3200 block of Lakeshore Avenue, police said. The man was in the shop using the laptop when three men entered. One of them grabbed the laptop and all three ran out of the store, police said.

The man tried to stop the three of them before they took off, then followed them out to the getaway car, police said. The men took off in the car going north on Lakeshore Avenue toward Piedmont Avenue with the victim hanging on.

He eventually rolled off, and the car sped off, police said.
