Concert tickets can make for a great holiday gift.
So, why not take one of your loved ones – or somebody you just plain like – out to see a show to celebrate the season.
Here’s a roundup of some of the top Christmas and holiday music shows being performed in the Bay Area this season.
Not So Silent Night
For the first time since 2010, Not So Silent Night returns to San Jose.
And it’s doing so in grand style, with a huge lineup headlined by the mighty Florence and the Machine.
Radio station 105.3-FM (Alt 105.3, formerly known as Live 105) definitely has quite the party in store for fans on Dec. 8 at the SAP Center.
The concert, which has traditionally been held at Oracle Arena in recent years, also features Death Cab for Cutie, Bastille, Young the Giant, Chvrches, the Struts and Elle King.
That’s a cool undercard, but the No. 1 reason for attending remains Florence and the Machine, the English rock/pop powerhouse last seen in the Bay Area in August when it headlined the Outside Lands festival.

Casting Crowns
The Grammy-winning Christian music group, which has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide, brings the It’s Finally Christmas Tour to the Paramount Theatre in Oakland on Dec. 4.
The band, known for such platinum-plus-selling platters as 2005’s “Lifesong” and 2009’s “Until the Whole World Hears,” will be performing from the tour’s namesake Christmas EP as well as from the group’s previous holiday outing, 2008’s chart-topping “Peach on Earth.”
Yet, fans can also count on hearing some of the group’s biggest hits, which could mean such songs as “Praise You In the Storm,” “Who Am I” and “Voice of Truth.”

Poptopia
The folks at 99.7 Now! always pull together an impressive lineup for their annual holiday show.
And that’s once again the case in 2018, when the concert returns to the SAP Center in San Jose on Dec. 1.
The show features not one, but three major headliner-caliber artists — Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello and Charlie Puth — each capable of filling a huge venue on their own.
Rounding out the bill are a trio of hot newcomers — Bebe Rexha, Jack & Jack and Why Don’t We.

This gospel act is nothing short of an American treasure, one that is loved by fans around the globe.
Talk about longevity! The group formed in 1939 – nearly 80 years ago – and has won multiple Dove and Grammy awards while connecting millions to the wonders of gospel music.
The Blind Boys of Alabama are out on the road in support of their latest seasonal effort – “Talkin’ Christmas!” – and perform their holiday show on Dec. 22-23 at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco.
