Violinist Jennifer Cho and violist Marcel Gemperli, both with the California Symphony, played at the front entrance of the John Muir Health medical centers in Contra Costa County in honor of the hospital’s frontline care providers during the coronavirus pandemic. Cho and Gemperli performed at the 6 a.m. John Muir Health, Walnut Creek Medical Center’s shift change, and the Concord Medical Center’s 6:30 p.m. shift change Friday. As they walked to and from work, the medical staff was treated to classical music from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Dmitri Shostakovich. Staff members with the time lingered to enjoy the music during the 45-minute performance.
