Just in time for Cinco de Mayo and the alfresco dining days ahead, the Bay Area’s Avital Tours has come out with a series of “chefinars” and virtual culinary experiences with a fiesta food theme. The lineup includes sessions with Tacolicious’ Sarah Deseran, Copita’s Daniel Tellez and San Francisco mixologist Christian Suzuki, who’s also known as Suzu. Here’s how Suzu shakes up the classic tequila and lime cocktail.

Classic Margarita

Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients

1½ ounces tequila blanco

¾ ounce freshly squeezed juice from 1½ limes

½ ounce agave nectar

Garnish: Salt Rim, Lime Wedge

Directions

Chill rocks glass in the fridge or freezer, or fill it with ice water and set it aside for 5 minutes.

Measure and add all the ingredients (except the garnish) to a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.

Pour salt onto a small saucer. Moisten the rim of the chilled glass by rubbing the outer edge with a wedge of lime, then tip the glass on the plate and roll back and forth to create a salt rim.

Fill the rimmed glass with ice, and strain in the cocktail shaker contents.
