It’s time to get ready for the 30th annual San Jose Jazz Summer Fest
This year’s impressive lineup includes such acts as Dianne Reeves, Gregory Porter, Pink Martini, The O’Jays, The Suffers and En Vogue.
Here’s what you need to know if you’re planning on attending the festival.
Location: It takes place in downtown San Jose, with each of the 13 stages within walking distance of Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park.
When: Festival runs Aug. 9-11. Music starts 6 p.m. Aug. 9, 11 a.m. Aug. 10 and noon Aug. 11. See festival website for set times for individual artists and venues.
Tickets: Three-day passes run $70-$425; single-day tickets are $20-$190. Three-day passes for kids are $15 (ages 5-12); single-day kids tickets are $5 (ages 5-12).
Parking and transportation
There are several city-owned garages within walking distance of the festival:
Fourth Street Garage (44 South Fourth St. at San Fernando)
Market/San Pedro Square Garage (45 North Market St. between Santa Clara and St. John)
Second and San Carlos Garage (280 South San Carlos St., between San Fernando and San Carlos)
Third Street Garage (95 North Third St., between Santa Clara and St. John
Pavilion Garage (15 South Second St., between San Fernando and San Carlos

Public transportation: VTA serves the area with both light rail and bus lines; viisit www.vta.org to plan your trip.
Caltrain could be another good option. The closet stop is the San Jose Diridon Station, which is roughly a mile way from the festival site. From the Diridon station, fans can walk, board VTA or use some other type of transportation (like rideshare). For more information, visit www.caltrain.com.
