More than 10,000 Bernie Sanders backers filled Richmond’s Craneway Pavilion on Monday, which was Presidents Day, to show their support for the Vermont senator.

Volunteers collected ballots and encouraged the crowd to vote. In his 30-minute speech, Sanders covered his usual progressive message of Medicare for all, criminal justice reform, immigrant rights and the Green New Deal, getting cheers after every line. He also went after one of his opponents, former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg, over spending billions to blanket the airwaves with campaign ads.

“The American people are tired of billionaires buying elections,” Sanders proclaimed during the rally.

Sanders’ appearance was the latest Northern California stop for the Democratic presidential contenders. Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, took part in several fundraisers in the Bay Area on Friday as well as led a rally in Sacramento. Sen. Amy Klobuchar was slated to be at a San Francisco fundraiser over the weekend, but ended up calling into the event after becoming ill.
