It’s only Wednesday of Super Bowl week but the anticipation for Sunday’s game is palpable.

For now, though, we’ll have to settle for picking the brains of the 49ers and Chiefs as they prepare for the biggest game of their lives.

Cam Inman and Kerry Crowley did a fair amount of that today, and they’re writing about it tonight.

Here are a few of the stories we’d like to highlight as 49ers fans get ready for Sunday:

-Cam was in a no-cameras press conference with 49ers general manager John Lynch, getting his take on building this team and his own Hall of Fame candidacy, the result of which will be decided Saturday in Miami.

-Jimmie Ward says he knew Jimmy Garoppolo would be the answer at quarterback for the 49ers even before Lynch acquired the former Patriots’ backup. Ward faced Garoppolo in college and picked him off, but Garoppolo threw six touchdown passes.

-Garoppolo answers to George Kittle’s assertion that he is the world’s worst texting buddy, arguing he does respond to his tight end — it’s just that sometimes there’s a delay.

There’s plenty more from Cam and Kerry, plus reporter Evan Webeck and columnist Dieter Kurtenbach in Miami covering all things 49ers in this week ahead of the Super Bowl.

As for Pablo Sandoval, Kerry took a break from 49ers coverage to write all about the Panda’s minor-league deal to return to the Giants.
