Remember when the Warriors could shoot the basketball? I mean, really shoot it. Remember the steely-eyed sharpshooters that represented for Golden State back in the day? Wouldn’t you love to see their likes again?

Well, you missed your chance. This past Friday in Georgetown University’s McDonough Arena, Chris Mullin and Mitch Richmond — two-thirds of TMC — filled the net from distance (OK, it was college distance, but still).

Fortunately Luca Virgilio, men’s basketball management analyst at St. John’s, was as quick and able with his phone as Mully, head coach of the St. John’s Red Storm, and Richmond, one of his assistant coaches, were with their stroke.

With easy flicks of the wrists, honed by countless practice drills, Mullin, 55, and Richmond, 53, both launched 19 shots in 90 seconds captured by the camera. Mullin canned 16 for 84.2 percent, while Richmond bottomed 13 (68.4 percent).

Take a peek:

Wouldn’t it be cool if we could pit one of the old guard against one of the current Warriors snipers? It would, and it was back in September 2017 when Mullin and Kevin Durant went mano a mano. Spoiler alert: Youth is about to be served … a slice of humble pie.
