Jamie Foxx, the Academy Award-winning actor and reported boyfriend of Katie Holmes, is livid that he is being accused of trying to force a woman to have oral sex with him at a party at his home in Las Vegas in 2002, TMZ is reporting.
Through his attorney, Foxx has said that the woman’s claim is an “absurd” lie, though the woman has gone so far as to report the alleged incident to Las Vegas police, TMZ said.
“Jamie emphatically denies that this incident ever occurred, and he will be filing a report with the Las Vegas Police Department against the woman for filing a false police report against him,” Foxx’s attorney Allison Hart said in a statement to TMZ. “The first time (Jamie) became aware of this woman’s absurd claims about an incident that supposedly occurred 16 years ago was when TMZ contacted his representatives about this story.”
The woman told police the incident happened when she and a friend were attending a party at Foxx’s home in Las Vegas, according to TMZ. The woman claimed that Fox tried to get her to perform oral sex on him. When she refused, she alleges that Foxx struck her in the face with his penis.
After the alleged assault, the accuser told TMZ, one of Foxx’s friends told her to leave the house. She told TMZ she went to the hospital the next day when she returned to Los Angeles to get treatment for a severe panic attack.
The accuser said the #MeToo movement inspired her to finally go to police and tell her story. Las Vegas police currently list the case as an open investigation, but law enforcement sources told TMZ that the woman probably waited too long to report the case: The statute of limitations for this kind of assault is three years.
Foxx’s attorney Hart said there is a reason the woman waited so long to go to police: “The alleged incident was not reported to law enforcement in 2002, or at any other time in the last 16 years .. because the incident never happened.”
Foxx, 50, is an actor, singer, songwriter, producer and comedian whose career in films began to take off after starring with Will Smith in “Ali” in 2001 and alongside Tom Cruise in “Collateral” in 2004, a role for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporter Actor. That year, he won an Oscar, but for Best Actor for playing singer Ray Charles in the 2004 biopic “Ray.”
Foxx has never been married but he has two daughters from prior relationships.
Last year, he and actress Holmes, the ex-wife of Tom Cruise, went public with their long-rumored relationship.
The former “Dawson’s Creek” star and the “Django Unchained” actor are believed to started dating in August 2013. But they reportedly kept their relationship under wraps, possibly because Holmes’ divorce settlement with Cruise included a clause banning her from publicly dating for five years.
