OAKLAND — A San Leandro woman is in county jail after California Highway Patrol officers arrested her and seized several off-road vehicles and motorcycles late Sunday, authorities said.

Just after 6 p.m., CHP officers learned the agency’s spotter plane was tracking a group of more than 30 all-terrain vehicles, dirt bikes and motorcycles in eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 over the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge.

When CHP officers learned the group’s riders were harassing other drivers, they tried to stop the group as it left the bridge, but the group’s members fled.

Letting the spotter plane follow the group’s members, its pilot directed CHP officers to a smaller group stopped near 103rd Avenue and Royal Ann Street. As officers swooped in to detain the group, a motorcyclist fled but was stopped and arrested blocks away.

According to public records, 27-year-old Darisha Moran of San Leandro was arrested on suspicion on obstructing a police officer, aiding or abetting a speed exhibition and evading a police officer. Moran was held late Sunday in Berkeley city jail on $17,150 bail and facing a May 2 arraignment at Oakland’s Wiley W. Manuel courthouse.

Officers also seized two dirt bikes and two all-terrain vehicles, and said more detained riders may face charges after a review of plane video footage.
