STANFORD – In a matter of hours two U.S. Open records fell in the same race, the Men’s 100 Meter Freestyle. On the first night of the 2019 Phillips 66 National Championships, the U.S. record for the Men’s 100 Meter was broken by Ryan Held with a time of 47.39. The previous record, held very shortly by Held in the preliminary round at 47.43, only lasted a few hours when he broke Jason Lezak’s record from 2008 at 47.58.
Regan Smith won the Women’s 200 Meter Butterfly at 2:07.26. Luca Urlando won the Men’s 200 Meter Butterfly at 1:54.92. Cal’s Abbey Weitzeil won the Women’s 100 Meter Freestyle at 53.18. Ally McHugh won the Women’s 800 Meter Freestyle at 8:26.04. Bobby Finke won the Men’s 1500 Meter Freestyle at 14:51.15.
