It’s going to be a hot fall season for hip-hop in the Bay Area. Here are five shows definitely worth checking out:
Kings of the West
One of the best hip-hop bills of the year is heading for the SAP Center at San Jose on Sept. 14. The bill features two of the biggest rappers of all time – Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube – as well as legendary Bay Area artists E-40 and Too Short.
Also on the bill are Warren G and the Psycho Realm.
It’s part of the SAP Center 25 Festival Weekend, a three-day celebration of the venue’s 25th anniversary that runs Sept. 13-15.
Fans can also catch Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Too Short and Luniz on Oct. 12 at Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland.

Rolling Loud
Without question the Bay Area’s biggest hip-hop event of the year, Rolling Loud returns to the RingCentral Coliseum grounds in Oakland with a huge lineup on Sept. 28-29.
The headliners are G-Eazy and Future on Sept. 28 and Migos and Lil Uzi Vert on Sept. 29. Other acts on the bill include 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Juice World, Lil Yachty, Playboi Carti, Trippie Redd, Blueface, Young Dolph, Polo G, Lil Mosey and Ronny J.

Lizzo
The Detroit native’s career is skyrocketing, with a top 10 album (“Cuz I Love You”) and a big tour that includes a two-night stand, Oct. 27-28, at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
Empress Of and DJ Sophia are also on the bill.

Nelly, TLC, Flo Rida
This should be a really fun triple bill on Aug. 30 at Shoreline Amphitheatre at Mountain View, featuring the man who gave you “Hot in Herre” (Nelly), the group responsible for such smashes as “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs” (TLC) and the artist behind the multiplatinum hit “Low” (Flo Rida).

Chance the Rapper
The talented hip-hop star visits Chase Center in San Francisco on Sept. 14 in support of “The Big Day,” which came out in late July and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
Taylor Bennett is also on the bill.
