Fans cheered Ibaka, whoscored just as Durant fell

Much has been said of the lack of class shown by the Toronto fans when Kevin Durant re-injured his Achilles.

I was at the game, and while there were cheers at the moment of the injury, they were brought on by Serge Ibaka, who stole the ball from KD and went for an uncontested layup.

Unfortunately, the cheers continued, until it was apparent what had happened to Kevin. They didn’t last long and quickly turned to chants of “KD, KD” in a mass showing of respect and encouragement.

I think I can speak for the majority of the fans when I say we are indeed better than that. We thoroughly enjoy such an outstanding level of play and wish KD nothing but a speedy recovery. We can’t do much about the moronic behavior of a few — except extend our apologies.
