It’s a really big week for live music in the San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland areas, highlighted by appearances from Red Rocker Sammy Hagar, vocal group Pentatonix and superb live act Florence and the Machine.
Acoustic-4-A-Cure
Sammy Hagar has lined up another impressive bill for his annual Acoustic-4-A-Cure benefit concert, which raises funds for the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
Joining the famed Red Rocker on May 15 at the Fillmore in San Francisco are Tom Johnston (The Doobie Brothers), Chad Kroeger (Nickelback), Lukas Nelson, Joe Satriani, Rick Springfield, Nancy Wilson (Heart) and Hagar’s The Circle featuring Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson.

Pentatonix
The phenomenally popular a cappella pop act, featuring Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee, performs May 11 at Oracle Arena in Oakland. Rachel Platten, the singer best known for the multi-platinum single “Fight Song,” is also on the bill.

Florence + the Machine

Todd Rundgren
