Broadway San Jose has put together one “Wicked” cool lineup for the company’s 2019-20 season.

And, as you might have guessed by the pun in the previous sentence, the season opens with the return of the ever-popular “Wicked,” which runs Aug. 14 to Sept. 8.

Next up is “Jesus Christ Superstar,” back in the Bay Area Oct. 22-27, followed by the return of the legendary “Miss Saigon,” Nov. 12-17.

For something more recent, Broadway San Jose turns to the acclaimed musical “Waitress,” from Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles, which will be staged Dec. 17-22.

From there, theater buffs get a chance to see a new production of the legendary “Les Miserables,” running April 21-26.

Last on the books is the Tony-winning, 9/11-themed musical “Come From Away,” taking the stage June 16-21.

“If I had one word to describe Broadway San Jose’s 2019–20 season, it would be ‘epic’,” says Broadway San Jose General Manager Gretchen Feyer. “Featuring Broadway’s biggest hits, fan favorites, and classics we know and love, there is truly something for everyone this season!”

There are also three “add-on” productions. First up is the ever-amazing Blue Man Group, set to perform Nov. 1-3, and then the Irish dance juggernaut “Riverdance” is back in action May 15-17. One more “add-on” production will be announced later.

Broadway San Jose shows take place at the San Jose’s Center for the Performing Arts in downtown San Jose.

Subscription prices are $289–$669 for the basic six-show package and are available at broadwaysanjose.com, or by calling (866) 395-2929. For information about President’s Club memberships, visit broadwaysanjose.com or call Sally Souders at 669-242-8560.
