It’s one of the best weeks of the year for live music in Bay Area, thanks to visits from three of our favorite acts – Bob Seger, Eric Church and Kristin Hersh. Here’s a look:
Bob Seger
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was absolutely brilliant during his farewell tour stop at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center back in February – which appeared, at the time, to be the final show Seger was doing in Northern California.
Fortunately, the man behind such all-time great songs as “Like a Rock,” “Travelin’ Man,” “Beautiful Loser,” “Night Moves,” “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man,” “Turn the Page” and “Hollywood Nights” added a Bay Area date..
So, don’t miss your chance see Seger and the Silver Bullet Band on Sept. 26 at Shoreline Amphitheatre at Mountain View.
The Wild Feathers are also on the bill.
Details: 7 p.m.; $48.50-$188.50, www.livenation.com
Eric Church
He’s the best male artist in mainstream country music today – by a really wide margin. Find out why when the platinum-selling North Carolina native rolls into San Francisco’s Chase Center on Sept. 28.
If that date doesn’t work for you, or if you simply want a double (or triple) dose of Church, he also performs at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento on Nov. 22-23.
Details: 8 p.m.; $29-$149 (S.F.), $25-$149 (Sacramento), www.ticketmaster.com
Kristin Hersh
Not familiar with this great singer-songwriter-guitarist? We recommend that you correct that situation immediately by seeing the indie-rock icon, best known for work as the leader of the fantastic Throwing Muses, when she performs Sept. 29 at the Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco.
Hersh is touring with her electric trio, featuring bassist Fred Abong (who also performs a solo set prior to taking the stage with Hersh) and drummer Rob Ahlers.
San Francisco’s own Dizzy Twin is also on the bill.
Details: 8 p.m.; $20, bottomofthehill.com
Florida Georgia Line
The immensely popular country act visits Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland on Sept. 26 and Shoreline Amphitheatre at Mountain View on Sept. 27 in support of this year’s “Can’t Say I Ain’t Country.”
Dan + Shay, Morgan Wallen and Canaan Smith are also on the bill.
Details: 7 p.m.; $39.25-$109 (Toyota), $40.25-$110 (Shoreline), www.livenation.com
