Andy Z and the Andyland Band performed in the fourth and final summer concert series for Kidchella 2019’s seventh year. Kid-centric music filled Courthouse Square as Andy Z encouraged children and parents to dance, enjoy the live music and participate in his bands interactive songs. The two bubble machines helped bring children to the front of the stage, the interactive music kept them there.
The free event also featured activity booths, an inflatable slide and an inflatable bounce house. Previously performing were The Hipwaders, Purple Fox and the Heebie Jeebies and Octopretzel. Redwood City’s Public Library and its Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department sponsor the summer series. According to the San Francisco Classical Voice, the municipal departments conceived of the name Kidchella, a play on the Coachella music festival. Kidchella began in 2013.
