Closures

• In the Golden Gate National Recreation Area:  Alcatraz Island, the Presidio Visitor Center, Fort Point, Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center, Lands End Lookout, Marin Headlands Visitor Center,  the Nike Missile Site, Point Bonita Lighthouse,  the Bicentennial and Kirby Cove campgrounds.

All Marin public school campuses suspended in-person classroom instruction to students for at least two weeks beginning Monday.

The private Branson School in Ross announced the cancellation of on-campus activities and off-campus events for two weeks beginning Friday.

San Domenico School, a private K-12 campus in San Anselmo, will conduct distance learning following Friday’s school holiday. Administrators hope to return to campus after spring break April 14.

Marin Catholic High School, and Our Lady of Loretto, St. Anselm, St. Hilary, St. Isabella, St. Patrick and St. Raphael schools.

Marin Academy, a private high school in San Rafael, suspended in-person classes through April 12. Online learning is underway.

Brandeis Marin, a private K-8 school in San Rafael, is closing the campus beginning Monday. Distance learning begins Tuesday. A notice on the school’s website says the campus is unlikely to reopen before Passover break, which is April 8-17.

Dominican University of California is extending spring break by one week to give professors time to migrate their courses online. All in-person class sessions are cancelled, and courses will be taught online indefinitely starting March 23.

College of Marin is on spring break from March 16-22. In-person classes are suspended. All classes are online beginning March 23.

City of San Rafael is closing all non-essential services, including community centers and libraries. Access to City Hall is by appointment only.

WildCare in San Rafael has closed the courtyard and museum through March 30. The center is still open for dropoff of injured or orphaned wild animals.

The California Film Institute at Rafael Film Center is closed until March 31.

Corte Madera cancels all non-essential town-sponsored public meetings, gatherings, and all indoor classes at the the Community Center and Age Friendly Intergenerational Center for two weeks as of March 11. Some of these events include bingo nights, seniors in balance and a speaker series, Grief and Grieving: What to Expect While Navigating Through our Losses. The town will still hold council, planning commission and parks and recreation commission meetings through March.
